213 available LLC names

On October 11, 2026 each of these matched no business registered under the same name in any state and no federal trademark with the same words. Add your state's ending when you file (LLC is the usual one), and tap a name to check it again in your state first.

Holding companies

A holding LLC owns other companies or assets and rarely meets a customer, so a short, neutral name that will still fit whatever it comes to own is the usual choice.

Real estate and rental property

One LLC per property is common, so many owners pick a pattern they can repeat (a street, a numbered series) and keep the owner's name off the deed.

Investment and capital

Investment LLCs lean on words like capital, partners or ventures; a name that sounds like a regulated firm can draw questions, so describe what it holds, not a service it doesn't offer.

Family and estate LLCs

A family LLC often outlives its founders, so a place or a landmark the family shares tends to wear better than a surname that marriage or a sale can make awkward.

Online stores and e-commerce

An online store's name is also its web address and its seller account, so a short name whose .com is free, and that no marketplace seller already uses, saves a rename later.

Home services and trades

A trade's name goes on the license, the truck and the invoice, and many states license the trade under the business's exact name, so check the license board's rules before you settle on one.

Freelance and creative studios

A one-person LLC often trades under the owner's own name; a studio name lets the work grow past one person, and a DBA can put both on the same LLC.

Wellness and fitness

A licensed health profession may have to form a professional LLC (PLLC) with its own naming rules, so check your state's board before you file; studios and coaching businesses usually don't.

What every LLC name needs

Each state sets its own rules, and our LLC naming rules compare them, but four come up everywhere:

  • An ending: LLC, L.L.C. or Limited Liability Company, or a form the state lists. The ending doesn't make a name different from one already registered in most states.
  • A name the state can tell apart from every name on its register, usually after it drops punctuation, articles and entity endings.
  • No restricted words without approval: bank, insurance, trust, university and the like need another agency's say-so, and some states bar a few outright.
  • A professional LLC (PLLC) where a licensed profession has to use one, with the licensing board's naming rules on top.

Keep the name while you get ready

Most states let you reserve an LLC name for a fee and a set number of days. Filing the articles of organization claims it for good, and our state-by-state guides cover the form, the fee and the first year's filings.

Common questions

How do I find out if an LLC name is available?

Search the register of the state where you'll form the LLC: that state decides. Our LLC name search reads the state's rules for you, looks for the same words on its register and in the federal trademark register, and links the state's own search.

Do I add LLC to the name?

Yes. Every state requires an ending such as LLC, L.L.C. or Limited Liability Company, and in most states the ending doesn't make a name different from one already on the register.

Can I hold an LLC name before I file?

Most states let you reserve a name for a fee and a set period, often 120 days; filing the articles of organization claims it for good.

Are these LLC names free to use?

None of them matched a registered business or a federal trademark with the same words when we checked, but a state can still refuse a name too close to one on its register, and someone can file the name after our check. Check again in your state before you file.
